The Kadalundi bird sanctuary located in the Malapuram district of Kerala is spread over a group of islands in a scenic locale surrounded by hillock where the Kadalundi River joins the Arabian Sea. This virgin land is the habitat of numerous species of native and migratory birds. Around 60 varieties of migratory birds flock here during the month of February-March every year. A nearby hillock, 200 m above sea level, presents a marvelous outlook of the sea and the river mouth. Kadalundi is also known for its wide of crabs, fishes and mussels.
