There are many popular tourist attractions in and around the city attracting tremendous tourists every year.  The Bolgatty Island is an exciting destination of Cochin, where the antique Bolghatty palace, built by the Dutch in 1744 stands. The Willington Island, the manmade island of the city, is another attraction of Cochin for its great natural beauty. The island was made by filling the dredged soil around a tiny natural island that existed previously.
