Payyambalam Seashore
Payyambalam Seashore is a quiet, secluded beautiful stretch of sand and surf this is ideal locale for a relaxed evening. It is an admired picnic spot of the local people and holds much potential for development into a tourist resort.
The wide seashore stretches over many kilometers. A long walkway along the sea shore gives a wide exposure to enjoy the scenic beauty of the sea. This seashore near Kannur town is prominent as the mortal remains of eminent political leaders like Swadeshabimani, A.K. Gopalan, K.G. Marar, Pamban Madavan and Ramakrishna Pillai are laid to rest near this seashore. It is nearly 2 km from the Kannur town. The well arranged gardens and the massive landscaped sculpture of mother & child greet the visitor to Payyambalam. The seashore is only walk able distance from the Fort St. Angelo.
